I'm just wondering because every day that I go out to water my flowers and grass, I have to pick up cardboard boxes, receipts, notebook paper, etc. I have a pretty good idea where it's coming from - My landlord.
How do you deal with this? I should put it all in a bag and put it on his front door with a note, "I found this."
Is it rude to have trash in places where it can blow into neighbor's yards?
NO, don't do that. I would just let him know that his trash keeps blowing in your flowers and on your grass. Make sure you bring him his trash that you picked up and give it to him... Tell him this happens on a daily basis and tell him what he needs to do so it stops. Give him some examples like you need to tie your bags up or get a lid for your trash can, etc. Let him know that it not only is a hassle for you to pick up and it makes the property look trashy too. Worst of all he's causing the environment harm as he's littering... We all must do our part at being responsible for keeping our environment green and healthy... Some people are just so involved in their own worlds or they're just not taught. So take this opportunity to get to know him better and teach him whats up... JOJO
Reply:That is very rude for a land-lord to do this. Go talk to him and tell him that trash is appearring from "no-where" tell him that you don't like picking up somone elses trash everday. And that whoever is doing this to please stop. Then If it doesn't stop take a camera oryour phone and record from where the trash is coming from. Then you have the culprit caught on tape. Hope this helps.
Reply:Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?
Of course nobody is going to disagree with you that it's a nuisance, but if you cause a confrontation with your landlord, you may come to a more complete understanding of the "lord" portion of that word.
Two phrases that you may need to research before you act, because they may both apply to him: "Reality denial" and "passive aggressive."
Reply:i would think the best way to resolve it would be to talk to ppl in person. i mean, our neighbor handled what he thought was coming from our dogs in a rude, immature manner. he "assumed" feces was from our dogs and instead of talking to us in a firm but polite manner that he was disgusted, he up and took the whole pile of poop and put it all on our concrete step and buried under it was a nasty note when we have no idea from what dog this all came from.
oh- and to top it all off, ppl were purposely throwing sticks and trash in our yard too. so, like i said, i would confront in person.
Reply:It is VERY rude....
The bag idea is good... but why should you have to touch or pick up someone else's garbage?
Could you report it to your local council or something?
I guess because it is your landlord you wouldn't want to cause any troubles, but still you shouldn't have to put up with this...
Maybe you could simply go and ask him/her to stop their rubbish from coming onto your yard....
Good luck
Reply:it is rude .............mabey go up to him/her and act like you dont think it is them......and say
I'm not sure where this trash keeps coming from i just dont want you to think that I'm trashing the place
or something along the lines where you can bring it to there attention with out accusing them of doing anythign
Reply:Don't do the passive aggressive thing you suggested.
Tell him, as a tenant, that you find trash in your yard every day and ask him if he can think of a way to stop that from happening. He'll figure it out.
Reply:not only is it rude. in Australia it is illegal to allow your litter to go on the streets, parks, and other people's property
can be as much as $100 to $500 penalty
Reply:Pick it up and next time you see him, tell him you picked up his blown-away garbage, that you thought he wouldn't want the wrong people to see it. He'll get the message.
Reply:Good idea! Better yet, put it in a box, wrap it in pretty wrapping paper, attach an attractive bow and set it on his front porch! It is better to give than to receive, right!?
Reply:I doubt he's aware that it blows.
Just politely let him know that his trash blows into your yard, and could he please find a way to stop that from happening.
Reply:having a pretty good idea where its coming from as you put it is not enough
you need something called actual PROOF
Reply:At best it's inconsiderate and worst it is down right anti-social.
Perhaps a word in his shell like will solve the problem
Reply:yes its rude
Reply:yes. its very rude.
Reply:very rude and yes I would leave it all on his/her doorstep...unbagged.
Reply:have you seen that comercial with the trash tree that guy builds and puts on the other guys car... hahah i love that
Reply:yes it is VERY rude.
Reply:yeah its rude
Reply:I HATE that. I am not sure how, but we get lil misc peices of trash from one neighbor, and cig butts from the other. What bothers me even more though, it the neighbors washer doesnt go into their septic system.. The pipe comes out the back porch. The water drains out their, and flows across their drive and pools in a dip in my yard. Whatever they wash their clothes with is the best fertalizer I have ever seen. I called the health dept a while back, but nothing ever happened.
Your case is worse though because it is your landlord, meaning he owns the property your on, so its like, 'its my property i can have my trash their if i want'.
I would gather it all up and dump it back on his yard.
