Need help with color scheme for living room?

ok, i have a white "L" shaped couch with dark red accent pillows, 2 dark red asian style paper floor lamps, 2 oversized asian fans for the walls that are gold and dark red wood. a large still life painting of a closeup of 3 lily flowers white black with a gold frame, a few black shadow boxes? that hold candles on the walls... im goin for an asian theme, moving into a new place where we can paint how we want, was thinking of either red walls, or gold walls? or possibly splitting the walls in half horizontally with bottom half gold/or tan and upper half dark red to go with the gold accents...

the ceiling would be left white, i guess, we will have white tile floors, so any help is appreciated.. also what aboput a curtain for the sliding glass doors?, red/gold/black? dont know.. im gonna try and play alittle in photoshop... please some of you interior design experts help a guy out!!!!!

Need help with color scheme for living room?
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a light green like "lark green" (# 6640) would work beautifully with your asian theme. And you could do a bamboo stencil like this on one wall to add another element to the decor:

Reply:I have the perfect color for you. The color is blond and made by Sherwin-Williams. Also you have alot of color that is dark. I would go with white or gold tone for the sliding glass door. Also, I would paint all the walls the same color. If you still think you want the walls split, put a ledge three quarters of the way up on the wall and put a gold glaze over the blond on the wood. Hope this helps.
Reply:I would try going into Yahoo or Google image search. Key in, living rooms, or living room design. It's amazing the ideas I have gotten from this. I use it all the time. Below is an article I found on slipcovers you might find interesting, have fun and good luck.
Reply:Deep red,red is the most prominent color in asian style, because it is believed to bring you good luck.Other colors in asian decor:brown, gold, grey, tan and black as an accent color. Get bamboo shades for windows.Bamboo, rice paper and rocks are very important to the asian style decor.Add a couple plants, this is a must for asian style.
Reply:Gold and red are great for accents, but I suggest keeping the walls a light color, even a slight grey would go with what you're doing, but staying with the white would really give you an open feel to the room with your furniture. You can then change your accent colors and even theme of your decor later at a small cost . Have fun!
Reply:I like Light brown and burgundy, that's what our walls have and it's gorgeous. Also light brown and green is pretty too, we have that too, OR burgundy and green. ALL BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER.
Reply:First how about a bamboo blind for the sliding doors. You need to break up the color a little. I would use a red accent wall with a lighter gold for the other three. Good luck.
Reply:Gold and red??!!
Reply:A way to start is to pick something that has multiple colors that tie into your room and pick your paint from there. The Lily picture sounds like a good start. I would say a nice accent rug to go on the white tile and accent your seating area maybe another avenue. The dark red on the gold bottom half is going to shorten your walls and make you feel like you are sitting will the ceiling on your head. I would suggest a nice warm green color-sage pops into my head because it would tie everything together. It sounds like you have a lot of red and white. You need a third color to tie it all together. good luck
