If that is true, how did she have the strength to get her make up on perfectly for the cameras. She says she cries every day. Makes a change from when she was in Portugal when the Portuguese stopped applauding them and giving them flowers as they couldn't believe how cold Kate was, laughing and joking with her sister before putting on a sad face to walk to the church or beach followed by all the cameras, but no tears EVER. I am sick of having the McFraudsters in the paper every day telling us how they are bearing up under incredible pressure etc,etc. They just can't step out of the limelight can they. Now they say they are prepared to go back to Portugal to meet the new policeman in charge of the investigation, yeah right, like they were prepared to take a lie detector test. Like they were staying in Portugal to clear their names, etc,etc. If they are prepared to return why have they hired a lawyer who is a world expert in fighting extradition for GUILTY people like Pinochet.

Everything right and making sense, but the people who treat Portugal as the 3rd world now you have to be careful because this man in charge from the PJ in Lisbon is the one who was several times in charge of training Scotland Yard officers (not so much 3rd world he?) and the investigation might take an even worse side for the McCanns because this man works with the logic he finds.

I have had very close relatives die. It upset me greatly, but I couldnt grieve 24 hrs a day... it isnt healthy. it isn't even possible.

People deal with things in different ways you know, when their innocence is proven I hope you will be apologising dearly on here!? like the other answerer said, you obviously have never lost anyone - life does go on - you can't sit there and never smile again - she may have smiled to be polite - who knows? There are, i'm sure, lots of people around constantly trying to cheer them up.

I personally know the mother of a child that was murdered. She said she cried and screamed in the shower every morning because she was in private and could grieve the way she wanted to.



You really need to watch what you say about how people grieve as you may have to find out first hand how you would handle it

Reply:I suffered from post natal depression after my third baby - and even though I couldnt set foot out of my house, my makke up was always perfect. It was a control thing and I found it took my mind off things.



Plus the Mcanns have been told by the police and chikd protection experts to show no emotion. Its believed that if there is a kidnapper thats how thy would get some of their kicks.

If you're trying to prove by not crying publicly and wearing make-up, she's so callous as to not care about Maddie, how does the weight-loss figure into the equation?

If she was really so un-bothered by her daughter's disappearance as never to cry, why then can she seemingly not eat properly?

As for those of you comparing this to losing relatives and the grief that comes with it, the difference is you KNOW whats happened so you have closure and you can go on with life. If I had NO IDEA where my child was, or what had happened to them, I wouldn't be able to stop crying, let alone put on makeup and do a press conference!





EDIT- Netty, weight loss can also be brought on by worry- eg. worry that the truth will soon be out!

Reply:The Portugal police may or may not be inept: we don't really know how their investigation is going in reality, only what we read in the papers. But to my mind, the top man who got the sack was only telling what a lot of us know. The McCanns are manipulating the press, the police etc. Whatever the final outcome may be, their lives are made, albeit without a daughter. I thought they came back to England to make a normal life for the twins and because they wanted to start earning money again. It doesnt appear that Gerry has started work so they are still living off whatever was in the original fund and presumably what celebrities are giving to fund their case.

Reply:This isn't even a question. Just because she isn't constantly crying doesn't mean she's not grieving. Everyone is different and people react to certain situations in different ways. She has two other children to protect and is clearly trying to make life as normal as possible for them. Both Gerry and Kate must be feeling incredibly guilty about leaving Madeleine on that fatefull night, and will never ever forgive themselves, but they really don't need people like yourself telling them how to behave and grieve. I personally don't believe for one second that they are guilty of murdering their daughter. We should all stop speculating about her parents, especially Kate, who seems to bear most of the blame, and focus soley on finding Madeleine.
Reply:They say they are prepared to do these things if asked...Because they won't have a choice thats why!! If the Police say they have to go back to portugal they have to. It isn't them offering to do these things. What happened to the return to Portugal every couple of weeks? They say their village is 100% behind them although in the same sentence Kate says they are feeling that they are becoming accepted again? Accepted again??? But the whole village is for you? I give in with these two..They should have stayed in Portugal. I reckon they will turn the Algarve against the Brits. Just hope they don't tar us all with the same brush..
