Just got glasses, are they suppossed to suck?

Ok I got a/an astigmatism so I got glasses, the problem is they suck! Outdoors I can notice the improvement in my vision

(signs look really clear, everything looks brighter, I can see individual blades of grass really good, I can see a bee landing on a flower from about 3 blocks away, etc.) ok I lied about the bee, anyways.... when im inside to read small text on papers on my fridge I have to get a little bit more than an arm length from the paper to be able to read it. Is that normal?, I never really payed much attention to this stuff before I got glasses. It also sucks that when I turn around I can only see clearly from the center of the lens and I constantly find my eyes looking down at the frame. On the psp my glasses make everything blurry and fuzzy that I have to lift them up to to check boxscores, stats, menus, options, etc. Oh and the stupid screen gives off glare and it makes it hard to see. Are my eyes lazy? Are they adjusting? Will I see better the more I wear em? Rx wrong?

How long have you had these glasses? Anytime you wear a new or changed prescription it will take time for your eyes and brain to adjust to the new power. Since your distance vision is clear, then chances are you just need to give it time for your near vision to adjust. However, if it doesn't improve in a week or so, you may need to go back to your eye doctor for an Rx check/adjustment. Or, you may need a bi-focal to correct your near/reading vision. It's not normal to not be able to read small print or close up if your prescription is correct. But, you may need a "near vision" added to your lenses caused by Presbyopia (where you need both distance and near vision correction). Lenses are clearest in the center, so that is why you have some distortion around the edges. If you have a smaller frame it will allow more of the edges to be cut off and will get rid of distortion. As for the psp, you're probably needing that near vision correction, and a good Anti-Reflective coating on the lenses will take care of the glare.
Reply:yes it sucks

and the thing is that the more you wearer glasses the more you need them
Reply:ok i just new glasses about amonth ago, and yes you have to give then a chance. i look at the frames also.but in time i have learned to forget about the frames.i now see clearly. so just give it some time and you will adjust to your new glasses. besides the doctor wouldn't have given them to you if you didnt need them.
Reply:Yeah I detest wearing glasses. I just got them a month or so ago and immediately went back to get contacts. My eyesight just isn't bad enough to put up with the glare and the distortion associated with having to look through glasses.
Reply:your eyes need a little time to adjust to the glasses. give it at least a week if you are still having problems then go back to you eye doctor. if you are getting headaches or something you might go back sooner but I would just give it time first. you probably just need to get used to them.
