"That's our policy" -- Do you hate this answer?

I went to HOBBY LOBBY last night, and found a 2 cute things for my wedding. I had one coupon, and asked if I could have it on both items (they were a matching flower girl basket and a guest book). I was met with "No, that's our policy. One coupon per item per customer." It was a coupon you could print off the Internet that my sister happened to have on her. I find it ridiculous that I could go print off a million coupons and then walk through the store and check out a million times, but I can't save paper and gas and just make one trip with one coupon. I doubt I will buy anything for my wedding at HOBBY LOBBY now seeing that following "store policy" is more important to them than making a customer happy.

I hate that policy nonsense as well. Hobby Lobby is lousey anyway. They obviously care more about making one sale with a customer than numerous others.. I hope you told them you arent going to give them your buisness.
Reply:Customer Service is important. But at least you weren't paying exorbitant HALLMARK prices. $5 for a card?
Reply:I'm finding there are many retailers that don't respect the customers. What's the big deal on honoring that coupon more than once if it's on line. Plus it was not like you were announcing it to the whole store. I understand policy but they should have gave you some options because you had a coupon that could have printed several times. I don't have an issue with the policy; I can't stand when retailers act like you can't go somewhere else.
Reply:Sounds more like "Snobby Lobby"
Reply:Target is the same way...

except a regular employee cant tell you that... a manager has to :/

believe me I use to work at the hell hole
Reply:I could certainly understand your complaint if it wasn't clearly on the coupon. If they failed to state the policy or "rules" of the coupon, they should have honored it. However, if you didn't read it, it's your fault for not respecting policy's set in place. Companies try hard to please the customer, it's cases like this that give stores a bad name for no reason.
Reply:Well, that's fair! You asked them to break the rules, they said no. What's the problem??

I think you're lucky that they took the internet coupon! Around here (Houston) it's really hard to find ANY store that takes internet coupons.

If it takes breaking the rules to make a customer happy, well, you're probably not the type of customer they prefer to have. What OTHER rules would you like to break???
Reply:You didn't go to a flea market. You want to go to a retail store, you will pay full retail price and coupons will only be used in the way they are intended to be used.
Reply:Don't be so harsh on the cashier. They are probably making an unrealistically low wage and are threatened with losing their job if they don't follow the procedures the way they were "instructed".

Now if it was a member of management that said that, then I would rip their lips off and feed them to my pet canary.
