Need help with nutty neighbor. PLEASE.?

My neighbor keeps putting cat crap in front of our garage, in our garage. We keep asking her to stop, but today she put a toilet paper full of cat crap on my front porch, rang the door bell and ran off. I go outside, pick it up and fling it back at her yard. She follows me to my house and says she keeps catching my cat pooping in her yard. Okay, this neighborhood has tons of cats. All the cats poop in our yard, our flower beds... We don't go around slinging cat crap at everyones cats. How should I handle this lady?

I'm really upset about this. My cat is 13 years old, stays close to home. I've seen other cats in this womans yard, the same cats that come into our yard... I really need some advice here. Thanks.

Need help with nutty neighbor. PLEASE.?
Keep your cat inside that way you are sure it is not your cat. Also this lady sounds a bit unstable and may try to harm your cat so keeping it inside will keep it safe. Then advise her to stay off your property. If she continues to come into your yard have her charged with trespassing. Also in some states her entering your garage w/o permission is the same as breaking into your house and she can be charged with that as well.
Reply:Easy, keep your cat inside and then she can't blame you. Personally, I'm fed up with all the other neighborhood cats that come into our yard and poop. Keep you animals inside people!

Edit: Since you're obviously not going to listen to any advice here... My cats have harnesses that we use when they are going to outside unsupervised. It doesn't hurt them, and one cat even walks on it.
Reply:Is there any chance that this woman can be reasonable at all?

Will she admit to the detail that there are many other cats in the area?

Can you have her call you if she sees YOUR cat and you'll agree to come take care of it? You'll have proof she's wrong if she calls while your cat is inside.

Can you go outside with your cat and supervise it while it's out so if there's any incident you can take care of it?

Would she agree to these things and stop dumping the crap on you?

If you clean up after the cat and she continues with her dumping, then you could have her on harassment as you have taken actions to insure that what's in her yard isn't yours.
Reply:my goodness does she not have anything better else to do??Do you have laws in your area that if your animal takes a dump the owner has to clean it up? If so call your local police or if it gets worse call the humane society and report her
Reply:Like the following advice keep your cat indoors from now on, or get him a harness and leash and take him out like that for some fresh air..that way she can no longer say it's your cat doing his business in her yard since your cat is not running loose outdoors. She sounds a little nutty alright but when I lived in town I got pretty fed up with stray cats spraying in my yard and pooping in my gardens...do your part and keep your pet contained so he does not contribute to the crazy lady's issues...and yes she may just resort to poisoning, dropping poop on your porch is strange enough as it is.
Reply:That is really too bad. It sounds like she might be a little crazy.

The only way to really deal with this is to keep your cat inside and out of her yard.

It is possible it is your cat as well as other cats, but really, it is the cat owners responsibility to contain the cats.

If she wants to, she could report you for having a loose pet, or worse, have your cat picked up by animal control.

Buy her a can of Boundary spray. It is a spray that is supposed to keep animals out of gardens and yards. I don't know how well it works or how long it lasts.
Reply:I would start keeping your cat inside. She is obviously very upset with your cat and may resort to more effective means such as rat poison!
Reply:there is no point in fighting back-the problem will get worse. Keep on good terms with the lady (she is clearly a nutcase). Do not keep your cat inside because they are not that sort of animal you can cage. It would also be cruel to an old can. You could buy her a spray bottle to fill with water to spray at the cat if he comes to close. Though I'm not sure if she would use and abuse it-its worth a shot though. The cat will get the message too that this lady is a selfish hag and to steer well clear of her place-good luck!!! and by the way cat poo is a good fertilizer for gardens and I don't know whats wrong with people who have a problem with something so natural, our neighbors are fine with it-one nice elderly lady even buys gifts for our cats.
