Very strange and vivid nightmare: any idea what it means ...?

The dream was disturbing, bizarre.

I was in a run down hotel and in my room.It was night time and very quiet and I was in bed. Not a nice hotel. old fashioned and spooky.Through the lock on the door this very long thin piece of crumpled up paper (thin and string like) had a paper eye on the end.

The string like paper was very long and gradually was threaded through the keyhole until it hovered by my bed in mid air and there was a flower like thing at the end which also looked like an eye.

It was obvious someone was threading it through from the other side of the door and it felt supernatural and it was designed to disturb me.

The next thing I remember is gradually opening the door and there was no-one there.

The hall was dark and run down. At the other side of the dark hall there was a tiny office with two young women who ran the hotel.I asked them if this had happened before and they said yes,a sinister young gay guy was stalking the hotel and was scary but no-one could catch him

I think you could be dealing with issues involving a gay person or gay people in general who find you attractive. He/they are not only "checking you out" but you also feel he/they have affection to give you (hence the flower aspect). This possibly creeps you out.



The fact this happens in a run down hotel symbolizes your feelings of "dirtiness" or sleaziness associated with homosexuality. If you don't feel that way, maybe deep down on some subconscious level you still do a little bit. This is what makes it seem like a scary place, the fear of homosexuality or the feelings of guilt or shame associated with that subject.



The aspect of the eye/flower apparatus being made of thinly fashioned crumpled paper may have something to do with a note? Or something written? Was there anything from somebody you know that was recently given to you and you crumpled it up? Maybe this dream is trying to tell you something about your relationship to that person.



Freud might tell you the keyhole represents your anus but I'm not going to quite go that far... It's probably just a breach of your security, an intrusion into your comfort zone and that's all.



**EDIT**: Sorry, I did not realize you are gay when I wrote this because you added that later. (Uh, you think that might have been important enough to mention? Alright, we'll let you slide this time.)



OK so basically your loss of this guy and this relationship is causing you distress. The "eye" from the "gay stalker guy" is made of crumpled up paper, and that crumpled paper symbolizes the way he just threw you away. Discarded.



While the two ladies told you he was stalking the hotel, this guy actually symbolizes the way that this failed relationship is constantly in your thoughts and won't leave you alone to find any peace. (Like a stalker only it's not a person it's your own feelings of being devastated at the loss of the relationship.)



Do you still have contact with this person? Is he cruelly watching you to see how disturbed you are by his dumping you? That might be the case or it might not, but I think your dream is all about this guy and your feelings of being hurt.
